Concrete is a complex product. It requires a lot of experience, extensive knowledge, and even finesse to develop concrete for the unique buildings and structures we see around us. We at Thomas Concrete have extensive experience in developing the optimal concrete for many different projects with widely varying requirements. Together with our customers, we contribute to building a sustainable society.

After suffering extensive damage from a storm in 2020, the spillway at Lake Lyman had to be demolished and replaced. Upgrades were added to the existing structure to enhance resilience and to provide a new slide gate and pedestrian bridge. Next, a new reinforced concrete flume spillway was constructed, including structural slabs, 20’ walls, an underdrain system, and vertical drains.

Concrete for the spillway flume was initially placed using a pump, and later a crane bucket was utilized to reach the required distance and depth of the project. Thomas Concrete used optimized mixes with THOMACOOL to meet the demanding specifications and control temperature.
