The I-85 SR 42/North Druid Hills Interchange project, managed by North Tarrant Infrastructure and supplied by Thomas Concrete, was designed to enhance traffic flow and safety in DeKalb County, GA. The project, which is owned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), will require a total of 13,000 cubic yards of concrete once completed. Thomas Concrete played a critical role by supplying various mixes including normal strength concrete, grout, Thomafill, and specialized high- and medium-strength, durable mixes such as classes A, AA, B, and D, each tailored to meet specific structural demands. Our reliable delivery and quality products were instrumental in meeting the project’s tight 90-day deadline for bridge reconstruction, crucial for minimizing community disruption and synchronizing with the opening of the nearby Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Throughout the project, Thomas Concrete demonstrated exceptional coordination and professionalism, ensuring that all specifications were met and often exceeded. The completion of the interchange project will contribute positively to the local community by improving transport connectivity and safety.
