Background and Career at Thomas Concrete
Justin Lazenby has been a part of the Thomas Concrete team since 2001, starting his career as a Lab Technician. His early exposure to the concrete business through his father’s extensive career in ready-mix operations has deeply influenced his professional path and leadership style. Over the years, Justin’s roles have evolved from Lab Technician to Field Technician, and subsequently to managing multiple territories across Atlanta. During the recession, he notably managed technical services efforts for half of the plants in the Atlanta Division, including the lab. In late 2013, he was promoted to Technical Services Manager for the Atlanta division and in 2023, Justin assumed the role of Director of Technical Services.
Role and Vision for the NRMCA Committee
As chairman, Justin Lazenby will coordinate and consult on issues that support the NRMCA’s advocacy on standards impacting the industry. His focus will be on fostering the adoption of new technology and sustainability practices, promoting performance-based specifications, and enhancing the quality of ready-mixed concrete through comprehensive policy and criteria for plant and company certifications.
“My main goal,” Justin states, “will be to continue the growth of the committee and engage new members to identify and address the industry’s needs.” He aims to steer the committee in tackling key concerns of ready-mixed suppliers and advancing meaningful industry-wide enhancements.
