Concrete is a complex product. It requires a lot of experience, extensive knowledge, and even finesse to develop concrete for the unique buildings and structures we see around us. We at Thomas Concrete have extensive experience in developing the optimal concrete for many different projects with widely varying requirements. Together with our customers, we contribute to building a sustainable society.
The 1111 South Tryon project, part of the Queensbridge Collective Luxury Mixed-Use Development in Charlotte, NC, is a significant commercial high-rise initiative. Thomas Concrete is supplying 55,000 cubic yards of concrete, including 1,864 yards of 7,000 psi mass concrete with 45% fly ash for the foundation. This project, managed by Clark Construction and designed by Goettsch Partners & LS3P, includes a 42-story multifamily tower and a 35-story office building.

In addition to the mass concrete, we are providing high-strength concrete mixes up to 10,000 psi to meet the project’s demanding specifications. Despite challenges such as internal thermal temperatures and restrictive construction hours, the mass concrete pour was highly successful. Our use of high fly ash content in the mixes highlights our commitment to sustainability and efficiency. This ongoing project underscores our role in delivering high-performance concrete solutions, contributing to the development’s ambitious goals and ensuring customer satisfaction.
