SUMMARY

To ensure the quality of our product as produced and delivered to the customer by ensuring the quality of our materials used daily as well as qualifying new products based on Thomas Concrete performance standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Concrete specimen testing
  • Perform aggregate gradations
  • Sampling of materials and concrete
  • Assist in keeping the lab stocked with appropriate materials
  • Running trial lab batches
  • Have fundamental understanding of all lab testing equipment
  • Keeping a clean work environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or General Education Degree.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with basic issues that arise with lab equipment and lab mixes.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None required to start. ACI strength technician certification required within the first 6 months after the start date.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All safety equipment required for the position is provided. The employee will be exposed to the elements at certain points. This includes rain, heat, and cold. We try to minimize exposure to the elements as much as is possible. Zero tolerance policy for any sort of discrimination, prejudice, and drugs or alcohol.
